ควรเปลี่ยนแปรงสีฟันเมื่อไหร่ดี ?
หลายๆท่านอาจจะทราบกันแล้วไม่มากก็น้อยว่า ตามหลักการณ์แล้ว ทันตแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญมักจะแนะนำให้ทำการเปลี่ยนแปรงสีฟันทุกๆ 3 เดือน คิดคร่าวๆเฉลี่ยนแล้ว แปรงฟันวันละ 2 ครั้ง (อย่างสม่ำเสมอ) ก็จะตกอยู่ที่ 180 ครั้งในการใช้งาน ซึ่งถ้ามองตามตัวเลขค่าเฉลี่ยนแล้ว 180 ครั้งถือว่าไม่น้อยเลยในการใช้งานแปรงสีฟันกับช่องปากที่ท่านรัก เพราะเหตุนี้นี่เองทันตแพทย์ทั่วโลกจึงแนะนำว่าการเปลี่ยนแปรงด้วยระยะเวลา 3 เดือน ถือว่าเป็นช่วงเวลาที่เหมาะสมที่สุดในอัดดับแรก
แต่มีสิ่งหนึ่งที่ทันตแพทย์จะแนะนำเสมอแต่ไม่ค่อยจะมีคนไหนสนใจก็คือหากว่าท่านมีอาการป่วย เป็นหวัด เป็นไข้ หรือแม้เพียงแต่อาการเจ็บคอ ก็ควรจะทำการเปลี่ยนแปรงสีฟันที่ใช้อยู่ในทันที โดยที่ไม่จำเป็นต้องสนใจเวลาว่าใช้มานานขนาดไหนแล้วก็ตาม
เนื่องจากว่าในระหว่างที่เราไม่สบายนั้นและเกิดการใช้แปรงสีฟันก็ไม่ต่างอะไรกับการแพร่เชื้อสู่แปรงสีฟัน ที่เข้าไปแอบซ่อนอยู่ในขนแปรง และเมื่อนำกลับมาใช้ท่านก็จะรับเชื้อจากแปรงสีฟันอีกด้วย
วิธีสังเกตสภาพแปรงสีฟันว่าควรเปลี่ยนหรือไม่ ?

เทคนิคสำคัญในการเก็บแปรงสีฟันหลังใช้งาน ลดการสะสมเชื้อโรค ?
– ล้างขนแปรง และตัวแปรงสีฟันให้สะอาดทุกครั้งก่อนจะทำการเก็บเข้าที่
– การเก็บแปรงสีฟัน แนะนำว่าให้ใช้วิธีตั้งหัวแปรงให้มีลักษณะขึ้นด้านบน
– พื้นที่ในการวางแปรงสีฟันควรมีอากาศถ่ายเทสะดวก ควรมีลมพัดผ่าน
– ไม่ควรเก็บแปรงสีฟันไว้ในกล่องมิดชิด เพราะจะยิ่งทำให้เชื้อโรคต่างๆ เจริญเติบโตได้อย่างรวดเร็วกว่าการวางตากอากาศที่ถ่ายเท
ข้อเสียของการไม่เปลี่ยนแปรงสีฟัน ?
– เกิดปัญหาเรื่องของกลิ่นปาก และไม่สามารถหาสาเหตุได้
– ฟันเปลี่ยนสีไม่ขาวสะอาดเหมือนเดิมแม้ว่าจะแปรงฟันอย่างสม่ำเสมอก็ตาม
– มีคราบพลัคเกาะแน่นบนผิวฟันเพิ่มขึ้น ถ้าสังเกตหลังจากที่แปรงฟันด้วยแปรงสีฟันเก่าที่ไม่เคยเปลี่ยนเลยจะมีคราบเหนียวๆลื่นๆติดอยู่บนฟัน
– แปรงสีฟันที่เสื่อมสภาพมักจะทำความสะอาดตามซอกฟันได้ไม่ดีพอ จึงทำให้เศษอาหารเล็กๆยังเกาะตามซอกฟันส่งผลให้เกิดการเจริญเติบโตขอเชื้อโรคต่างๆได้ง่าย ส่งผลทำให้เกิดฟันผุนั่นเอง
– เหงือกอักเสบ บวมแดง มีเลือดระหว่างแปรงฟัน เนื่องจากแปรงเก่านั้นจะมีเชื้อโรคอยู่เป็นจำนวนมาก ส่งผลให้ช่องปากติดเชื้อโรคได้ง่ายเช่นกัน
