ทั้งนี้ระยะเวลาที่รับประทานต่อเนื่องนั้นไม่มีระบุชัดเจน ในบางตำราแพทย์แผนไทยแนะนำว่าไม่ควรรับประทานต่อเนื่องเกิน 7 วัน เนื่องจากกระชายขาวมีฤทธิ์ร้อน อาจส่งผลให้เกิดอาการร้อนใน เป็นแผลในปาก จากการศึกษาพบว่า การบริโภคกระชายขาวมากๆ มีผลทำให้เกิดปัญหาเหงือกร่นและเกิดภาวะใจสั่นได้
ในกรณีต้องการรับประทาน สารสกัดจากกระชายขาว เข้มข้น หรือสารสกัดสมุนไพรอื่น ๆ แนะนำให้ปรึกษาแพทย์หรือผู้เชี่ยวชาญก่อนทุกครั้ง เพื่อเป็นการลดความเสี่ยงของผลกระทบที่อาจเกิดขึ้นต่อสุขภาพได้
ข้อควรระวังก่อนรับประทาน กระชายขาว
– ผู้ที่มีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับการทำงานของ ตับและไต
– เด็ก สตรีมีครรภ์ และสตรีให้นมบุตร
– ผู้ที่ใช้ยารักษาโรคประจำตัว เช่น ยาลดความดันโลหิตสูง ยาเบาหวาน เพื่อไม่ให้มีผลกระทบต่อโรคประจำตัวและยาที่ทานอยู่เป็นประจำ
– ผู้ที่ได้รับยาละลายลิ่มเลือด
– ผู้ที่มีโรคเกล็ดเลือดต่ำ ยาต้านการแข็งตัวของเลือดหรือเกล็ดเลือด
– ผู้ที่ป่วย มีไข้ เพราะอาจทำให้อาการแย่ลง
– ไม่แนะนำให้รับประทานฟ้าทะลายโจร คู่กับ กระชายขาว ต้องคำนวณปริมาณให้เหมาะสมหรือให้แพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญเป็นผู้แนะนำ
สรุป ถึงแม้ว่า กระชายขาว มีสรรพคุณ ประโยชน์ ช่วยรักษา บรรเทาอาการต่างๆได้มากและยังมีผลการทดลอง งานวิจัยสารสกัดกระชายขาวสามารถยังยั้งเชื้อไวรัสโควิด – 19 ได้อีกด้วย แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม การรับประทานกระชายขาว ก็ควรที่จะทานอย่างพอดี เเละเหมาะสม ไม่ควรทานมากเกินไป เพราะจะส่งผลเสียต่อร่างกายได้ ดังนั้นหากมีความต้องการในการรับประทาน กระชายขาว ไม่ว่าจะในรูปแบบประกอบอาหาร หรือเเบบผลิตภัณฑ์เสริมอาหารในรูปแบบเม็ดเเคปซูล เพื่อเสริมสร้างภูมิคุ้มกัน ควรได้รับคำเเนะนำจากบุคลากรผู้เชี่ยวชาญ หรือ เภสัชกรก่อนการใช้ยา
